Michiel Roelse Trio brings you a healthy mix of standard jazz repertoire and original compositions by the members of the trio. Focusing on the tones and styles of jazz from the fifties – but played with a modern touch - they offer a wealth of warm, transparent jazz music that is a joy to novices and experts alike.

The music of Michiel Roelse Trio is equally at home at private and corporate functions or concert venues.

Having individually explored all possible avenues of music in all corners of the world, the three members of Michiel Roelse Trio met in Autumn 2008. After having played with each other for the first time, they decided 1. to continue playing together because obviously something magical happened every time they played, and 2. to settle on their first love, jazz in a trio format.

The format of guitar, double bass and drums is so flexible it can sound subtle as a whisper or powerful as a big band.

Practicalities:
Michiel Roelse Trio plays a maximum of three sets of 45 minutes each, with 15 minutes breaks in between.

Music should be heard, but it should never be too loud! Michiel Roelse Trio is capable of adjusting their volume to every situation. Don’t worry; you will still be able to talk to each other…

Michiel Roelse:
Gibson ES-175 and Gibson ES-347 guitars, Polytone amplification, Dirk-Hendrik effects. Michiel buys his stuff at Max Guitar Store in The Hague and so should you!
